# CursorMode enum

Namespace: [Grasshopper2.UI.Canvas](https://developer.rhino3d.com/api/gh2/namespace/grasshopper2.ui.canvas.md) · Assembly: [Grasshopper2](https://developer.rhino3d.com/api/gh2/assembly/grasshopper2.md)

```cs
public enum CursorMode
```

High-level cursor modes the canvas can be in. The mode determines the cursor displayed and how subsequent input is interpreted. When the mode is [CursorMode.Normal](https://developer.rhino3d.com/api/gh2/type/grasshopper2.ui.canvas.cursormode.md) the per-element cursor logic in the mouse-move handler runs as usual; in any other mode the modal cursor takes precedence.

## Values

| Name | Value | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Normal | 0 | Default mode. The cursor follows the element under the pointer (inlet/outlet/scrollbar/object cursors are determined per hover). |
| Question | 1 | Question mode (Shift+Alt). Clicking an object reveals its location on the object browser tabs. |
| EditArmed | 2 | Edit-armed (Alt). The user has signalled interest in inline editing, but the cursor is not currently over a parameter that supports it. |
| EditActive | 3 | Edit-active (Alt, cursor over a parameter that supports inline editing). A short dwell will pop up the floating editor. |
