Maths.SmoothLimit
ReferencesEnumerates the possible smoothing function for Maths.SmoothMin(double, double, Maths.SmoothLimit, double) and Maths.SmoothMax(double, double, Maths.SmoothLimit, double) functions. In every mode except None the
k parameter represents the width of the blend zone, measured in the same units as a and b.Enum values
| Name | Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| None | 0 | Regular, discontinuous Min() and Max() behaviour. k-parameter is ignored. |
| Polynomial | 1 | Quadratic polynomial smoothing with C¹ continuity. Outside the blend zone the result equals the sharp min/max. |
| Cubic | 2 | Cubic polynomial smoothing with C² continuity. Outside the blend zone the result equals the sharp min/max. |
| Exponential | 3 | Exponential (log-sum-exp) smoothing with C∞ continuity. Unlike the other smoothing modes, exponential smoothing deviates from the sharp min/max everywhere, though the deviation decays rapidly away from the crossing. |
| Circular | 4 | Circular arc smoothing with C¹ continuity. Outside the blend zone the result equals the sharp min/max. |
| Chamfer | 5 | Linear bevel (chamfer) with C⁰ continuity. Outside the blend zone the result equals the sharp min/max. |
